Pico de Gallo
Pico de gallo (literally, "rooster’s beak") is a fresh, uncooked salsa made with tomatoes, fresh chilies, and onions. Often served with chips as an appetizer, pico de gallo is also an accompaniment to grilled meats and a garnish for tacos.

Ingredients
- 4 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- ½ cup (75 g) onion, finely chopped
- 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
- 1½ tsp (7.5 ml) fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 tsp (5 ml) lime juice
- Salt, to taste
Directions
- Combine ingredients in a glass or other non-reactive bowl.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
